You were a bit young for that era.

The music, the cars, the women, and the absolute freedom of the REAL AMERICA which is long gone.

70s and 80s were the heyday of this nation.

Well, it was every bit as true as Snow White or Cinderella.

Busted her arm falling from Heaven, that little angel.

The translucent apparatus in the foreground was courtesy of Tupperware.

The “Beverage Buddy”*. It was available in several different sizes and lotsa colors, patterns and combinations.

A trapper and his children taking muskrat pelts into the FSA (Farm Security Administration) auction sale, held in a dancehall on Delacroix Island Louisiana, 1941.

Now I want an RV with a flying bridge.

You could take a false start penalty, then make the first down and still not be at the front of that thing.

A bit young for what era? I was born in 52, a teen by the mid 60's and away from home living out of state on my own working for a living by the summer of 1970.

If you were born 1972 or before you definitely had a beverage out of one of those. Essential gear on family camping trips back then

Hardly. Joined the Navy while still in high school and shipped out to boot camp in Orlando a week after graduation in the spring of 1970. Got through 9 weeks of the 12 week program and suffered a bad shoulder dislocation-----something that had happened to me many times as a youth.

Navy Dr. checked it out and determined it was sufficient enough that I never should have been taken into military service. I asked for them to operate and correct it and was denied since Uncle Sam didn't want the potential burden from a pre-enlistment injury.

Got back home a few weeks later and tried to join the Marines, Air Force and even the damn Army and was turned down by all.

So, there I was, looking for a job and back home at age 17 sporting a buzz cut in 1970 and looking so much out of place from my friends at the time.

Found a job out of state in Jackson, Miss. and went there to live and work and stayed there 3 years before heading back to N.O. and working for a living.

If I could have gotten through boot camp, who knows where my life would have taken me..............

James Brown was the halftime show in 1977. Prince Charles was there for the coin toss. UGA lost 33-0

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin' and jinglin' the jango
Floatin' like the heavens above
Looks like muskrat love

I was there. A large banner unfurled off the bridge that said "Prince Charles does it DAWG style".
