Cool pocket knife. Reminds of the walkie talkies we had when I was a kid that had the morse code sticker on them. We were always trying to use the code but just ended up talking anyway.

Similar to these, I remember they were green and kind of military looking in appearance. had about a 2 foot antennae on them.

I must've had at least six sets of walkie-talkies similar to those when I was growing up. Some had a range of about 300 feet and some would reach over two miles. Seems they all operated on CB channel 14 by default back in those days.

Well, I was 11ish, so beer wasn't an option.
It was Little League night, so there were kids in uniforms all over the place.

USS Nevada (BB36) was the one my grandmother's youngest brother served on. GMC3 Flavious Johnson stationed at Turret 1 (the forwrad battery of 14-inch guns). He was killed at Pearl Harbor, 12/7/41 having just turned twenty years old in October of that year.

The Nevada saw a good bit of action in the North Atlantic for the second half of the war and was one of the ships used in the atom bomb test at Bikini Atoll. She was heavily damaged in the test and showed high readings of radioactivity. She was sunk in about 14,000 feet of water in naval gunnery practice in 1946.
