Jo Mora's "The Evolution Of The Cowboy", originally published as a promotional item for the Salinas Rodeo in 1933.



I believe it was revived for a Levi's ad c. 1950, which is probably where this 1968 album's art director first came across it.

Sounds like they really didn’t prepare for it, no wonder why it was a disaster. The show was still in it’s infancy, so you know they did a bunch of shite by the seat of their pants…
