I’m looking to get a picture framed for my dad of the old Brass Rail Bar in Baton Rouge and have had no luck in Google. Anyone have any tips, suggestions, or even pictures?

I have no pics, but I saw Bonnie Rait and David Allen Coe there in 1976. It was a great bar.

There’s an FB group called Old Images of Baton Rouge. Maybe ask there. People in it have all sorts of random-arse pics from BR throughout the yesteryears, so you may have some luck.

Wasn't it across the street from the something horse bar? Off of Highland right before the Regina and University square, mall. Fridays 25 cent bourbon drinks till 8 I believe. Good times.

Yeah, it was across from the White Horse. I think it was the only local bar that carded me when I was a 17 yr. old freshman.

There was literally a brass rail unning along the base of the entire bar. Kick arse Friday night scene. Mellow Saturday afternoons for a little hair o the dog.

Biker type bar, or at least had that kind of vibe. Closed and became a frat bar called Tiger Lounge and/or Kilpatrick's. (May have been called both at various times.). As another poster said, it was next door to the White Horse/Shannahans, near where that gay bar is now. The Bengal and Cotton Club were right across the street. Highland Road had quite the bar scene before it became Mogadishu.

Freddy Pou owned the White Horse and several other bars. Ex Vietnam Green Beret. Only about 5 foot 4 and very laid back, but you dared not frick with him.

If my daughter brought me a framed photo of a bar I would take a shite on it. Get your old man something cooler, like a stripper.

In the late seventies Reggie's was a sub shop called Punch and Munch. Subs and video games. Their big seller was the Pac Man. Roast, ham, and turkey.

It was decent, but not as good as the Pump'n Station across the street. An old photomat building owned by a dental student named Dolittle. I can still smell the garlic on the roast beef poboy.
