Is there a recap of this? The OT seems to know the entire story but no one will post it.

No, but unless the kid was drugged without him knowing he still made the choice to do the drugs

Kids in that age group will do things as part of a group they would never do as an individual, peer pressure is a very real thing.

He still made the choice to pledge that fraternity and if he did od then he still chose to do drugs. Peer pressure does not absolve him of the poor decisions he made

And the dbag fraternity brothers should still have their fraternity suspended for trying to push their pledges to do drugs

No one pushes anyone to do drugs. Real life ain’t an after school special.

So said she killed herself because she felt so guilty they didn't check on him sooner and she waited to call 911. They said initially hospital told family they didn't think he would make it and once they told the family that, she lost it and was riddled with guilt. It'll all come out over the next few days.

Let’s just say a girl is dead and a guy is in a coma. It’s not good. Had a friend of mine who’s a DG at LSU tell me about it today, had to do with hazing

Yes they do, and just because a 18 year old is legally an adult doesn’t mean their brain is anywhere close to being developed to the point of making mature rational decisions. The difference in development of the brain from 18 to just 25 is enormous.

Is there no peer pressure outside Fraternities?
Has there never been an independent group that caused harm to one of its own?

Of course there is, but when things go wrong in the Greek system they get more publicity.

Of course he has to have personal responsibility. I'd kick my son's arse if he was doing drugs/drinking to the point of hospitalization to prove himself to some douchebags 2 years older than him.

However, there is clearly an issue with some power tripping dickheads in these fraternities coercing 18yos to do shite like that. It's routinely dismissed here as "bonding," but there's a major difference between getting them to do funny pranks and telling a kid you're going to cut him from the fraternity unless he drinks x amount of alcohol.
