If you aren't out watching the sky right now you're missing out

Too many spiders on my deck at night, lately. The big ones.

I need to spray.

All is see is itty bitty stingin’ rain… and big ol’ fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath.

Pretty decent in SW Missouri. A long bright fireball shot across the sky about 15 minutes ago (midnight). Went from north to south. Lots of normal meteors mixed in.

I'm calling it a night. I saw probably 50-60 and some came in bunches. Incredible display.

I've sat out some years for 2 hours and not seen a damn thing so this year has been the best by far.

If you're up reading this..GO OUTSIDE NOW. They're in full swing until about 5am.

I guarantee you'll see a bunch.

It's overcast or outright pouring every time there is a meteor event. Every. Single. Time. I get spaceweather email reminders and then I look outside and sure enough...cloudy sky. Those emails are a more reliable forecast than my weather app.

"Hey honey, there's going to be a meteor shower tonight. Just wanted to let you know it's going to rain."
