I admit that I have joked that Pepe was a want-to-be cat rapist. But it does seem silly to worry he adds to rape culture. Firstly because he's an unsuccessful object of mild derision.

I suppose someone could do actual research on children and adult attitudes to see if the alleged effect on attitudes actually resulted. I really doubt there would be an impact but doing that much would at least make more sense than writing an unsubstantiated editorial.
