That's odd. My phone calls always end in: No I love you more, not uh I love you more!... ok ok ok. hang up. No you hang up. No I told you first. So, you called me so you have to hang up first.

People want to sound professional and polite, and they end up saying thank you when it isn't appropriate. This makes things awkward. People need to just say "you're welcome" when appropriate and hung up the damn phone.

I know techies have major issues with normal social behavior, but no phone conversations should end like that.
Just both of you say see ya later and hang up.

Gotta just end it. My Mom is the hardest to end a conversation on the phone. She will say bye and restart another conversation. I just have to say I have to take a shite or am going into traffic. You really just have the option to say Alright, Thanks! Talk to you later. If they start up again just say I have to take a shite.

Or go movie style and close your flip phone after you said what you wanted to say without saying good-bye

I'm a minion...just say what you gotta say and let me go. I've got 15 other people to answer phones for. And they don't want to talk to you either.
That's a general "you" Jim not a specific "you"

I'm a woman and I just hang up the phone after "bye".
Are you also a lonely college single in my area?

I find myself in plenty of awkward business situations, but ending phone calls in the business setting is not one of them.
Recap conversation very briefly (Sounds like we're on the same page then...)
State plans for future (Alright well I'll reach out to the bank and if you'll check with...)
GTFO (Sounds good, talk to you soon)

This is the ending of a conversation where the person talking is trying to get off the phone with someone whose feelings they care about (mom, child, etc).

You've been a secretary for 20 years. That's borderline definition of beta.

Everything here is spot on

You guys are retarted to think it is me ending the conversation like that. I am talking about men and women clients/customers who have zero phone etiquette and they do not know how to end the phone conversation with a simple goodbye.
Some of you guys on here are morons talking about hanging up the phone, etc. It is obvious that some of you have never been in sales and trying to land jobs.

Posted on 8/18/15 at 5:38 pm to GTSwarms
Because you have self confidence problems
Just say thank you bye and hang up

Why is it that whenever you end a conversation with a client or whatever, the goodbye part at the phone call almost always ends like this
ok, thanks, thanks ahaaam ok byee now ahaaaah goodbye, ahhhuh
It's a two way street. I've had calls that end that way, and I've had calls that didn't end that way. It generally depends on how sociable the other person is.
