Yewh I've listened to every single one at one time or another lol. I can't recall anything particular about it though. I'm sure it's been several several year.
Wasn't that long ago I listened to DTotR and then followed the series up with the History or Roam and then History of Byzantium(sp?). I enjoy this guy as well. His English accent relaxed me pretty well... I may have to hit those up for a round two sooner than later

Say you get into a fight with someone. The rules are that they can have a knife and you can't. If you could change the rules so you could also have a knife, would you?

If they do it, I wanna be able to do it also

Lol.
Over the years, I've come to learn that some people won't change. No matter what you do or try to show them, some people will always be hateful or scornful. Torture these pieces of shite. You aren't changing them or saving anyone, they're not going to stop hating us no matter what so get your info, bring them out back and do us a favor by putting a bullet in the back of their skull.

Also if we get to the point of actively tourturing an individual for intelligence, I think this person needs be be next on the chopping block and due up for the death penalty. We wouldn't want to be putting individuals that we find so deep 'in the know' of a terrorist organization that we feel it's a good idea to torture this individual to extract info. If he is that important of an asset, I feel he is one that warrents life in prison and he fealty pentalty anywho....

You brought this to the wrong board and you need to think this through before you make a simp's judgement on it like you've done. You're advocating to make more enemies than torturing would hinder. You're advocating the torture of people who might be totally innocent and it's a slippery slope.
frick people who want to harm us; pull their toenails' through their eyeballs' for all I care but open season on anyone who might be a terrorist is just as shitty a policy as a blanket no touch policy. Just think it through, it's not as simple as you're making it out to be and procedures that aren't public knowledge are going on now, always have been, and always will be despite your faux outrage and belief that you've got it all figured out.

Look at history. You know who wins? Men who aren't afraid to be brutal and ruthless.
Men that swept across continents and built empires on the backs of millions of dead. Men that would raze cities to the ground and slaughter any that resisted to a man.
Show me an empire of sissies who played by the rules and didn't get their hands dirty.
There aren't any.
And those who became soft were wiped out by men who were hard.
You are one disturbed individual. Seek help.

You are a weak, disgusting excuse for a man. You are what is wrong with this country. You would have been weeded out of the gene pool in a different time.
You are a waste of a nut on the part of your father. Hopefully you won't pass on your worthless seed and burden the rest of us with some weakling we'll have to pay for.

The fact that you're applauding mass murder is disgusting. If my children don't think like you I'll consider it my greatest achievement. Seek help.

Some intelligence is better than no intelligence if you have people to verify it

At what cost? If you tortured and killed hundreds including women and children to stop one supposed attack would it be worth it? What happens when your methods create more terrorists, the info doesn't stop attacks or it is mishandled by the government and it happens anyway?

Applauding mass murder?
Nah, just not naive that this world, our world, was built on the backs of killers and rapers.
Everything we are, what we are, is drenched in the ancient blood of conquerers.
Weaklings like you were exterminated because they didn't have what it took to survive.
The world is cold and cruel and unforgiving. This kumbayah shite is making us soft.
So no, I don't applaud it, I simply accept the truth of reality. Unlike you.

I won't lose sleep over torturing a known terrorist, but it seems to be more for bloodlust than anything productive. Not only do we lose the moral, high ground, which gives us the authority to sanction Iran and North Korea, Syria, and the like. But maybe more importantly, I don't think torture has proven to work. People will eventually tell you anything you want to hear, oftentimes, not true. So, then we have to vet all this "intelligence" we are getting under duress. You can never take Intel you detract via torture as truth.
Like someone mentioned earlier, the best way to get Intel you can relie on is long term psychological, skilled interrogations. I saw this show the other night that showed how this dude broke down Sadam Hussein. It took him like 5 months. But it worked. He established a dominant position, and then gained his trust. After a while, he slipped. If he had gone in there the 1st day pulling fingernails and teeth, we wouldn't have gotten shite.

You can't convince me that torture doesn't work. It works and I hope we come up with even more evil ways to torture radical Islamists.
I bet if I tortured you, I could get you to admit just about anything. That has to make it true, right?
