Even if you could be infected twice, it’s not likely to be this soon.

This is almost certainly the case. When we get large numbers of recovered cases into the 6-12 month window post-recovery we will start to get a better idea of how long the immune response is viable. I am unaware of any credible evidence that anyone has actually been reinfected at this point and I would be surprised if the immune response wasn't at least 8 months to a year. If we were already getting reinfections now we would be fricked.

It's WAY more likely that those two people have had one continuous infection.

quote:

In the early weeks of the pandemic, some people in China, Japan and South Korea tested positive twice, sparking similar fears.

South Korea’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention investigated 285 of those cases, and found that several of the second positives came two months after the first, and in one case 82 days later. Nearly half of the people had symptoms at the second test. But the researchers were unable to grow live virus from any of the samples, and the infected people hadn’t spread the virus to others.

“It was pretty solid epidemiological and virological evidence that reinfection was not happening, at least in those people,” said Angela Rasmussen, a virologist at Columbia University in New York.

quote:

The virus may have secreted itself into certain parts of the body — as the Ebola virus is known to do — and then resurfaced. She did not get tested between the two positives, but even if she had, faulty tests and low viral levels can produce a false negative.

It's likely these people just want to scream and holler for perpetuity.

They don't care to study actual biology.
They won't read literature relating to long term SARS immunity.

They won't look at NYC , Sweden, Switzerland #'s and realize herd immunity through natural infections work.

They'll keep clamoring for crazy "lockdowns". Despite California (crazy lockdown) and Texas(pretty lenient) having nearly same deaths/million.

We are gonna hit herd status in most of country(rural AF areas won't) by the end of the year.
The Coronabros will continue to scream and holler until no one dies. Which will be years from now. Vaccine or not.

I had it in June, with my quarantine ending on July 3rd. Took at test again on 6 July, was negative.

I wear a mask not because I think I could get it again, but because I just don't want the hassle of other people getting in my face.

I would prefer a t-shirt that said:

I've had it.
I can't give it to you.
I can't get it from you.
Your rules don't apply to me.

Cheers.

You kind of have to even you want to enter anywhere. It’s not like he has a ‘had Covid’ card only his wallet.

You don't have any expertise. Barely graduating from high school and ranting about imaginary books and manuals doesn't make you credible.

There are some experts now starting to say that may not be possible.

Basically, nobody knows shite yet.

herd status not possible

NYC is down 99.9% deaths from peak.

Sweden and Switzerland down 97-99%. And they don't wear masks.

GTFO with that.

I was saying in March mortality was 0.5% or lower. While moron "experts" touted 3.5%. It was mid March. I got skewered on this site for the post.
I was right. Fauci, birx etc were wrong. They used Chinese data. My Chinese American co workers were were flabbergasted at that. They said "never trust China, they lie".

I'm not a virologist.
But, I am a scientist.
I work with numbers.
And herd immunity is only possible explanation for death decline in many European countries and the NE United States.

Then we should find a convenient roof, and throw them off it.

They’re loons.

Society will develop a level of innate immunity. It’s a virus. That’s what happens.

Hell, it may simply disappear, like SARS did.

They’re profoundly anti intellectual.

It’s absolute madness.

For the love of god, throw credentials out the window.

Dr. Fauci is an expert, and he clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about. His pronouncements have more to do with staying in the spotlight, and currying political favor - than anything else.

He’s not a doctor or a scientist - he’s a politician.

Exactly.

They'll just dismiss shite and have no logical reason to do so.

I miss grad school. You had to have your intellectual guns loaded at all times.
If you took a position, you'd better be able to back it up.

Lazy man's crutch.
I do science.
I'm educated in science.

But, if someone has a viewpoint etc but doesn't have scientific credentials....that doesn't have any bearing on the merit of their viewpoint.

Credential shaming is lazy.

Medical doctors say scientists can't have opinion on medical issues.

The majority of Nobel prizes in medicine go to biologists! Not MDs.

It’s actually not incorrect. There is no proof that anybody has been infected with the virus on two separate occasions.

LINK

quote:

Reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 has not yet been definitively confirmed in any recovered persons to date. If, and if so when, persons can be reinfected with SARS-CoV-2 remains unknown and is a subject of investigation. Persons infected with related endemic human betacoronavirus appear to become susceptible again at around 90 days after onset of infection. Thus, for persons recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection, a positive PCR during the 90 days after illness onset more likely represents persistent shedding of viral RNA than reinfection.

Absolutely- ideas stand or fall on their own. And they’re all that matters.

Bro. STFU.
We are supposed to pretend this behaves different from every other non-seasonal virus.

Hide inside forever. Or, until Fauci tells you it's ok.
