I can't stand this. I think they have the speakerphone on in their car which makes it so that, but I was talking with a girl and she was at her house and it kept echoing so maybe there's something else at play.
But you'll start talking and then there's a second or so delay and then you hear yourself back in the earpiece and it completely throws your mind off. I find it impossible to have a conversation that way.

Simple, tell them to take you off speaker phone.

I agree. My boss does this and it drives me crazy.

She was dropping a big one on the toilet.

I use speaker phone at the house all the time.
From all the years of working out and Jiu Jitsu, it starts hurting my elbow after about 15 minutes of holding a phone to my head. Plus, my fingers start going numb.

First upvote.
Equally big peeve is people who have you on speaker phone without telling you, and five minutes into the call someone else chimes in.

What is worse is when it echoes and you are NOT on speaker phone

I’ll do you one better:
I was on the phone with my wife earlier today, and she had me on speaker while she was feeding the baby. The phone was right by the baby’s bottom, and my son let out a massive, grown man fart. He might have shite his pants, I don’t know. We ended the conversation then and there
Picking up an ear shattering fart on speaker is worse than an echo

Definitely. That's just straight up rude. I feel awkward simply being in the car with someone doing that knowing the person on the other end doesn't know I can hear their conversation.
