That's great that they are able to help those people. It reminds me of this philosophical thought experiment about knowledge and sense experience.

Im protan... I got the glasses. They do make things more colorful. Biggest things I notice are that green lights actually look green now (they usually are indistinguishable from a slightly off white light). Also, hamburger meat looks way redder.

This is the same type glass the use on the ISS so astronautes can see the stars.

pretty damn interesting...I really had no idea that such technology existed. kind of sucks that something like this is available for a few hundred bucks and few people even know that it exists.

I asked my fiance that and he explained it is all shades of gray and plus some things give off other hints of the color. I found it fascinating to hear him explain it and how he adapted to it.
His colorblindness must have been the monochromatism type because we had 2 tv's in our room and on one he was watching an old black and white movie while I was watching a color one. One day I asked him what was the big difference he saw between the two movies and he said there was none to him when it came to color. He could not see any difference.
Poor guy- post divorce he was working at the firehouse and his guys kept eyeing him oddly for about a week or so. Finally he got exasperated and asked wtf they were looking at.
They finally hesitantly asked him why he was wearing so much pink lately. Poor guy has washed a red sock with the whites and did not have a clue he had pinked up his socks, shirts, boxers, etc. They also informed him that the new glasses he bought were also pink, lol!
He drank Tab all his life and never knew until I told him that the can was also pretty pink.
Oh how he made me laugh with that story. He told it so well. So much better than I.

so im still watching these videos, and what ive found most fascinating is peoples reaction to their skin; could imgaine looking at your own hands and saying what color is this? Mind frick for sure
