People looking for the "One" (aka: your soulmate)?

Have you found he or she? If you haven't do you think you ever will? Think I found her, then divorced her, but I still had three great kids from her. Now I don't give a fuq about the "one".
Just want to here some stories good or bad

She left me for another guy unfortunately
Pretty depressing when I think about it

It's a myth. People weren't meant to marry or stay with one person for life. It's not normal or healthy. Religion created this fairy tale BS. It's why the divorce rate is fifty percent and infidelity is rampant in the other fifty percent but they stay together for convenience.

Had one I thought could be but she turned out to be a manipulative sociopath.

There are billions of people on this planet and an unfathomably large number of combinations to couple them off into.
There is no "one," there is only a near universal proclivity towards self-affirmation.

True.

There are biological reasons why humans were meant to stay together for an extended period of time if not life. After that it becomes a question of stability and security.

Found mine. Can't imagine life without her -been married for almost 20 years now. Most aren't as lucky as me though, so you're going to get a lot of jaded posts and negativity here......

True, but this was more relevant when people were only living into their 30/40's.
The extension of our lifespans has introduced a great deal of stress on the tradition.

You cannot find "the one" if you are searching for them.
One only finds and/or recognizes "the one" when they are embracing life, living to the fullest.
Become the person you want to be, live the life you want to live, and "the one" will find you.

They only stay out for one dance, Walt. You have to pay extra if you don't want them to give a dance to the next guy.

Nope.

With my personality...I'm skeptical. Unless I can convince myself to wait things out and play the odds, I'll probably wind up being just as miserable as the rest of you betrothed folks.

Yeah, my second S/O. My drinking and her bipolar disorder fricked it up.

It has more to do with procreation and long childhoods of our species. If anything our childhoods have gotten longer, and there is more concentration on our children's upbringing with more required education to survive and thrive in society.
