People increasingly moving out of Nola

Reported this morning on local radio, a nola real estate agent and sec/treasurer of the New Orleans metro assoc., of realtors said that people are moving out in larger numbers.
It’s a very unusual market. Houses are sitting a longer time than this time last year. I’m sure interest rates play a large part in that.
Others sell quickly.
Price declines are on the increase compared to last year.
They’re leaving New Orleans for safer areas like Jefferson and st Tammany parishes.
That’s echoed by Other agents I’ve talked to say that people are moving to safer areas in state and some are even going to different states- miss and alabama mentioned.
Crime is reported to be the common reason used. No surprise there.
So New Orleans is facing the real threat of a declining foundation from this outward migration. The death spiral is a term used for when the tax base erodes in the face of increasing needs for the city. Not sure New Orleans is there yet but the trend is heading that way.

As long as it is not Democrats moving to St. Tammany, I'm ok with it. If it is, you're not fricking welcome and move out of state.

Who can blame anyone from leaving that crime ridden shithole.. Its a disaster from Latoya on down and will continue to be until residents decide to vote differently.

The next mayor will be of the same Ilk as Teedy, as the majority supports the hood rats vs law enforcement/prosecution/incarceration.
NOLA soon to become Selma with a NFL and NBA team, but that’s on borrowed time as well.

St. Tammany needs to do more to regulate development. The parish government seems to bend over backwards to appease developers who routinely ignore planning and zoning restrictions.

If it is, it’s the white guilt Garden District type who blame themselves but deep down know better and move anyway only to vote woke again.

Nobody is moving anywhere. Everybody is coming here. Who do you think is living in all those new subdivisions? Big new apartment blocks sure fill up quick.

New Orleans died a long time ago. There’s no sense carrying on with acting like we actually give a shite.

I think that ship has sailed and it’s not turning around now.
