Why? If it’s a nothingburger like the common cold, just send them back to work, right?

I heard Glenn Beck say on radio for everybody to buy a 3M N95 mask before stores sell out of them if it gets bad here in the future.

Your response here just goes to show that it doesn't matter what slackster says, some of you will take exception to it.

He's been nothing but reasonable IMO.

People are stupid - this thread is full of stupid people, me included. If Joe Blow from Sugar Land, TX comes back from China, checks our fine, and goes to work at Fluor, plenty of co-workers would be nervous as hell. If, God forbid, old Joe ends up having the virus after being at work for a week, there is going to be widespread panic across Harris and Fort Bend counties. It doesn't matter if he's sick for 36 hours and back to normal, the hysteria isn't worth it.

There is no harm or drawback from working at home, ergo, it's perfectly reasonable.

Are the new releases still in line with your trends/calculations you were posting a week or more back?

Listening to Glenn Beck is more dangerous than the Coronavirus.

The masks can be an attractant for bacteria if you try to reuse them.

They might be good for moving a few bodies or if you have to go out amongst the zombie coronavirus infecteds...

Not even close. He tried to argue that “unstable” patients could be people just walking around with a fever because the number of unstable patients didn’t fit his narrative.

He’s the opposite of the doomsayers to the point of aggravation. It’s a form of virtue signaling where he is trying to portray a sense of superiority for not worrying about anything.

I agree. I don't know what the beef is that's causing all of this ugliness. ALL of the input and opinions are important right now, including Slackster's.

I don't see anything wrong with someone keeping a level head and that's all Slackster is doing.

He's been posting since the start of this thread, he's not going anywhere. If any of the ones attacking him don't like it, go start a new thread of your own.

Points of view people !!!
It's important to let everyone say what they feel without being jumped on.

Happy valentine's day! BE NICE.

Same thing my office did. Asked me to work from home for 2 weeks.

One of the new cases in Japan was visiting Hawaii from January 28th to February 7th. He developed symptoms of a cold on the 3rd and on the 8th a fever.

Well they changed the criteria for counting cases in Hubei, but it doesn't appear they've changed it in the rest of China. Makes it impossible to compare, the last two days.

If they stick with this criteria for a week or so we should have enough to draw some kind of trend line.

Which has been one of the criticisms on this board of your opinions. The numbers are not able to be trusted. Changing the criteria is a good method of how people muddy up statistics. Many knew they were going to be doing that.

Yet, when someone says that they are hysterical and want this thing to kill everyone or they won't be happy.

Well that’s not good. Hopefully the humid and hot climate throttled down how long it lived on surfaces and the likes.

That's true though. "Stable/unstable" are not really medical conditions as far as I understand.

His "narrative" appears to me to be much more aligned with a rational and logical thought process than those who want to shut the world down.

I think you're reading way too much into it. Why are some people so bothered when someone tells them not to panic?

Some guy flew into Heathrow, and he's suspected as having the virus. Apparently they had all the other passengers just fill out a health card and go on their way.

To be fair, that's not what I did nor what caused the spat last. I said I don't believe all critical/serious condition cases = ICU equivalent cases. I didn't think that would be remotely controversial.

Poker_hog and I make a good team. We're like the upper and lower bounds of how this will end up. Aggravating one another for the good of the lurkers in the thread is a nobel act.

I worry about plenty. I simply think that worry should come with some perspective.
