yes, chances are that a lot of people won't suffer much from this at all, but you perpetuate the problem by not understanding it's not just about you surviving, it's halting the spread
and there have been plenty of cases that prove this isn't just a problem for the elderly and people with compromised immune systems, but we can't let that narrative go at all

Halting the spread until when? Until 2021 when there's a vaccine? Or until the fall when they lift restrictions and people go out and this thing spreads like the 2nd round of the Spanish Flu? I'm sorry, but if you're high risk then you need to take every precaution necessary. To the 99% that aren't, it simply doesn't make sense that they do anything other than practice basic social distancing.

Tulane has 8 students test positive as of this morning. Most are at home with their families, two happen to be international students that are not able to leave and are quarantined in the residential halls. Good times. Nola.com will not report this bc Tulane.

I'd love to say frick it and carry on status quo, but my office is going to be locked after today thanks to our shitbag governor. I couldnt protest if I wanted to. Hopefully I can go stock shelves at win dixie or something.

I'm not downplaying the risk factors for elderly or those with other conditions. But they need to exercise extreme caution, as they should when nearly any illness is spreading. I was on board with social distancing very early on. I get it. But as long as stores are open, I'm going to run errands and continue on with my life as much as possible.
