I didn't say you should.

But its also in poor form to view something through lens of only worst case scenario.

Carrying (and then by definition being able not to carry) a smartphone is the same as the government implanting a chip in your body?
Damn son.

Yay, more personal insults.

If you think that is a personal insult then you need to take a break.

It's true and Sundays I usually don't check it until that night in prep for Monday morning.

The worst case scenario should always be considered, at least to a degree, and significantly more weight should be placed on that aspect of the situation when any governmental entity is involved.

Governmental spending/projects are pretty much universally viewed through the “worst case scenario” lens.

How many times do you need to insult my intelligence before it is considered an insult? How else should I take it?

How is it true that you aren't connected all weekend but you also check it on Sunday nights? And do you also have no social life or family to stay in contact with all weekend?

I said your opinion was asinine. Disagreeing with your opinion is a personal insult? You are really reaching, pal.

Seriously? Now you are just being purposely obtuse.

Goddammit Scruffy. Be better than this.

Yes, worst case scenario should always be considered, as someone that works in risk remediation this is literally what I do everyday.

But that isn't what you did, nor what I said.

My posts were more about the technology and healthcare, and less about government involvement.

I'm just talking about the technology and how it can or will be used in the future.

Plenty of wonderful technology that we use everyday has been created by our government first.

Saying "your 'logic' is asinine" is an insult. Just own it.

Yeah, because that could never be used to control mankind. NAAAAH, that’s crazy talk.

It’s never the technology that is scary, but the people in positions of power who are scary and what they can do with that technology that makes people in society uneasy.

In short, it’s the people we don’t trust with that technology, not the technology itself.

It was considered.

I just strongly felt that the benefits of the proposed actions were outweighed by the risks involved.

I stand by that view to this day.

If they have to say this it does not make me feel anymore comfortable about taking the shot. Maybe I am conspiracy loon

Believing that the two can be separated, after what we have seen the past year, seems like fairy-tale thinking to me.

Just get the "vaccine" and the chip. They promise nothing bad will come from any of it! It's for your safety only. Pinky swear!

having a chip that can accurately detect viruses when they enter your body is kinda awesome if you try not to go all conspiracy theory about it

After this past year, why the frick shouldn’t I go conspiracy theorist on this? As a reminder, last week Biden said if we’re good little boys and girls that I can gather in my backyard for the 4th of July with like 8 people as a reward for good behavior. Seriously what if this chip can track where I am, it finds out I’m in a house with 20 other people, and then the police come like the fricking Gestpo and bust the door down? I’m not putting that out of the realm of possibility at this point.
