I'm a pharmacist and can tell you no one is prescribing it anymore. Not even for the old and sickly people with covid. It has fallen out of favor because it's not effective and has drug interactions.

So, you’re saying cheap ivermectin is a safe alternative for expensive paxlovid?

I took it about a year ago soon after I got Covid. I also had rebound Covid a week after symptoms went away, which I think is a side effect of paxlovid.

It's really impossible to know how much it helped, but it sucked having the rebound Covid.

Nothing I said came even remotely close to that.

I had zero problem filling ivermectin when prescribers wanted to try that. I did not agree with prescriptions that had people hoarding and taking it every day for prevention, however I filled plenty of ivermectin prescriptions if the patient had Covid at that time.

But no, what you said I said is not what I said.

I took the first pill and couldn’t get off the toilet. I couldn’t hold anything in because it messed my stomach up so bad

I took it a week ago as a precaution because of a pre-exisiting condition. Made me feel better and my Covid stayed mild. But it also hit me with two very common side effects: (1) Horrible taste in your mouth that makes you feel like you are walking around with a mouthful of pennies all day and (2) rebound Covid which I'm dealing with now. Doctor seemed reluctant to prescribe and I was probably overly paranoid plus I had some important things coming up in my life so I wanted to knock it out quick.

Fluids, vitamins, plenty of rest and sunlight will do the trick if you aren't in a high risk group. It's just a bad cold that turns into a really bad cold for a very small sliver of people.

The idea behind that was: Does ivermectin have drug interactions similar to paxlovid?

If not, would it make it safer?

As far as hoarding and as a preventative, I know some that will take a lower dose per week, and a friend who has family in Uganda who take a weekly dose of HCQ to help prevent malaria.

Im not kidding when I say I haven't had an rx for it in so long we recently put all of it

We haven't filled much of it. I might have done 2 rx's in the past 2 weeks. If someone asks about it, or tamiflu, I tell them it might make you feel better a day or so sooner, but otherwise its a hard pass for me personally due to all the potential side effects...and cost.

I had a women call last week who gave her 3 month old Tamiflu. Kid broke out in a serious full body rash and got worse after one dose. It was over Easter and of course her Dr/nurse were at the local easter egg hunt and couldn't be bothered. Told her to throw that shite in the trash and find a better Dr.

Well the vaccine while not nearly as effective as advertised to the point of almost being pointless is not linked to the things you say it is in any significant way. So I’m sure you will make whatever decision you land on in your head and based on your version of reality. Good luck

I took it after getting Covid (even though I was vaxxed...glad the polio vaccine didn't work like the COVID one did) and Paxlovid left me with the God awfulness metallic taste in my mouth constantly. No other issues but that stuff SUCKED! Next time I'll let the Covid run its course.

Ivermectin has demonstrated through history to be super safe, few interactions and well tolerated. Great safety profile. It's an important and effective drug, but it doesn't seem significantly effective against covid. Some people believe otherwise. It is so unbelievably safe I believe it was certainly worth trying. If you compare the two drugs the ivermectin definitely has less interactions and adverse events vs the two in paxlovid.

If I saw a rx for ivermectin for covid today I'd probably have to chuckle. It didn't work either.

I just took 24 hr Allegra and DayQuil at day and NyQuil at night for my COVID. Also loaded up on Vitamin C & D and Elderberry. This was what my father's doctor told him to do when he was sick. We made it through fine.

I did take ivermectin late 2021 after Christmas.

We had a usually Christmas eve dinner with family and two were flying out of country the following Monday. Their tests came back positive for COVID, but after they arrived at their destination.

I started feeling like shite on Monday evening, like a mild hangover that lasted 3-4 days. My resting HR was very elevated for 4 days, 85bpm, and I dosed 5 days of ivermectin starting on Wednesday.

Pretty much all my symptoms were gone by Saturday.

Normally I would but that bitch told me to stop taking vitamin D because my multivitamin already had enough in it. That was in late February and I’ve been taking vitamin D every day since before Covid even started. I never had Covid until Easter. I’m back to taking vitamin D every day. I’m convinced it was keeping Covid away.

Is it possible you had COVID and didn't know it?

I avoided the getting covid for the longest time until last year and even then, I was still testing negative.

I take C, D, zinc (which prevents or restrains a virus from replicating inside your cells - the only place it can replicate), quercetin (a zinc ionophore which facilitates the transfer of zinc through the cell membrane), and n-acetylcysteine (NAC) daily. I add lactoferrin and Benadryl when I get cold/flu/Covid symptoms. I have had low fever, with mild chest congestion, and fatigue only twice in the past 3 years. Fever was gone in 1-2 days with aspirin. Fatigue was completely gone in less than a week. However, mild chest congestion persisted for 7-10 days. I don't know if these symptoms were caused by a cold, the flu, or Covid. I never took a test nor an injection of any kind.

As a pharmacist, I would not take it due to the possibility of severe rebound infections.

Get some ivermectin instead.

That’s about as stupid a thing as I have heard. Most people can safely take at least 5000 IUs a day.
