Just shows how little I find myself downtown------and I live in Mid-City. I avoid the CBD and Quarter like the plague.

I usually go through that intersection on the way home from work. Had been a fun project to watch.

We were here to go to the 2 pm show today. It looks bad. Prayers for those involved and their families.

Part of the new Hard Rock Hotel just collapsed (NOLA) 1 fatality, 18 injured.

If that isn't the most New Orleans thing ever then I do not know what is. Prayers sent for the injured and the loved ones of the deceased.

That might delay the project a little bit.

Didn't say they did, just little to no experience going up in a congested environment with structural steel. It's a different ball game with multiple cranes with little to no lay down area with streets and sidewalks directly below with occupied buildings. It's a complicated build for most, not a dig, just seems it was outside their comfort zone.

This is a dumb statement....actually, both statements are dumb.

Congrats, you have an opinion too. Their revenue and build experience doesn't necessarily line up with weathering this type of mishap.

Lots of times the cranes are subcontractors. No one even knows yet what happened or who’s at fault.

Heard that. I do not know much about construction so I was sincere in my curiosity.

I’ve been wondering who is in command at this point.

The Fire Chief gave a presser earlier. He has experience clusterfrick demo jobs.

If I'm not mistaken, that building's ground floor use to be an old "Woolworths" store many years ago when they were still in business.

I could have sworn Woolworth was at Canal and Royal.
