The ump just wants to get the game over with as soon as possible. They are there to call the game, get done ASAP, get their money and be done. They are not pros. And you are probably not as good of a coach as you think

A parent’s job in youth sports is to keep your comments to yourself. Cheer for good play by either team and don’t argue anything with anyone.

You are teaching your children to function in a group environment and fight their own battles here. Not to play baseball.
99.9999999pct of these kids aren't going to make it past high school level. Many of them won't get anything more than regulation playing time in high school.
This is not about baseball, it's about teaching them how to behave and work as a team and put in their own hard work. It is not about specific calls and balls.
Arguing with kids sports refs is trashy.

Yep, I do believe I received some colorful observations fueled by fire water [and a few were rightly so delivered - was not my calling, lol]

Uh... Drinking early, you goof ball?
BTW, bazeball was CORRECT. If a base runner is standing in Fair territory, even if he is on a base, and he is struck by a batted ball then he is out. Standing on the base is no safe refuge from a batted ball.
There are an exceptions...

Parents are why I despised travel ball. Coaches sucked as well.

Little League baseball on a Marine base was way different.
Both umpires were Marines - one the base Sgt. Major and the other a Sgt. who had previously been a DI at Parris Island.
There were no arguments by the coaches, not commentary by the parents.
The only issue that ever came up was that a Marine just back from Vietnam went berzerk and came over to the field with an ice pick. Sgt. Metzger (the ref) took care of business and the incident quickly ended. Dad told me the young Marine had been wounded twice and gallantly served (and was known to Sgt. Metzger) which is why Sgt. Metzger handled the situation with minimal force.
