Depend on sport and/or position?

Think it depends more on makeup of family and how many other kids you have/their ages/ what they have going on.

My kid wrestled varsity for 4 years and ran cross country varsity for 2. I went to every wrestling match and tournament, had over 200 matches, didn't miss one. I didnt travel outside 1 hour for cross country, couldn't see driving long distance to see something that only lasted 17 minutes and you couldn't see the whole thing because they were running through the woods.

Parents missed quite a few away baseball games. But it was totally understandable. games were often early afternoon on weekdays.

It was amazing to me when I coached high school football that we’d play an inner city public school at our place, and there would literally be two or three people in the visitor’s stands sometimes. Never more than around 25.
