That was the craziest shite I had ever heard. Let's turn the world upside down for one kid, frick the other ones.

I don't understand why anyone needs to change genders. You can have sex with whoever you want to, why do you want to change genders? I don't get it.

I don't fully understand it either because I want to be a man and I have a penis. I know it's not perfectly analogous, but if I woke up tomorrow with tits and a vagina, I'd still insist I was a man on the inside. It's too hypothetical for me to even begin to know where I would go from there, but I can understand why pretty much all transgendered people require a lot of counseling and why they would want to get a sex change. Obviously, they shouldn't be able to get any operation done until 18 (and even then hopefully a little later).

Good, 3 year olds should be making major decisions for themselves obviously.

It's not like they let him get an operation or anything. They let him get a haircut and dress differently. Both are temporary in case it does turn out to be a phase. Oh, and I guess they're letting him play tee ball instead of doing ballet lessons. So... what major decision that can't be fixed if it's just a phase was their kid allowed to make? I'm just not seeing the hangup here. To avoid the question of restrooms, he can just go to one of the unisex ones. Every school I ever went to had at least one.

What happens at puberty? There are biological differences between boys and girls that he hasn't experienced. How will this impact him as she grows?

Hell if I know. I'm just a 23 year old who doesn't want kids trying to put myself in their shoes

I understand. It seems fine now, but as she grows he will continue to develop new physical and emotional connections. Can she turn back? Just weird if we have reached a works order where people can decide this personally.

Being a tranny is just wrong to me. It's just a complete confliction with nature as a whole. For frick's sake, has there ever been a gorilla that's chopped it's dick off? Yes, homosexuality is natural, but this is just a different beast.

Am I a tranaphobe (for lack of a better word)? I just don't understand how someone would willingly have their body mutilated. It's just fricking awful and sickening.

Perfect gif for this thread and the reaction I would have if I ever met those parents.

If I ever do decide to have kids, and end up in their situation, I'll have the benefit of at least 10 more years worth of psychology research having been conducted. Maybe they will have done studies with children whose parents "indulge" them and children whose parents don't, and compare outcomes (with depression, reported bullying, satisfaction with life, etc.). Definitely a tough challenge I would rather not face though.

It's interesting that in their attempt to free themselves from a set gender identity they reinforced gender stereotypes in Ryland at a young age. If Ryland likes Spiderman so much, why can't she be a girl who likes Spiderman? Why does she have to become a boy to like super heroes and play sports?

Contrary to what the video says, not every tomboy grows out of it. Some of them never get into playing with dolls or dressing in pink.

Yep. My sisters friend is straight and fine as hell but would rather be in Tiger Stadium or a bass boat than clothes shopping.

Fortunate that they named him something that worked as a boy's name too.
