I see the same people at the off ramp everyday going into the office. I've seen some of them get dropped off in an older Lexus GX SUV. Just pathetic.

Saw them on a daily basis when I was living in Houston. However, the best sign I saw read, "I need money to buy fuel for my rocket ship." I gave him points for originality, but no money.

Had a somewhat fat woman come up Saturday morning while a dentist friend and I were taking train pics. She asked for breakfast money. There are Street hookers in the area but they generally stay away. She walked up but I caught a truck pulling up and it was obviously her pimp.
The dentist is a concealed carry instructor. But it is time to be wary when a panhandler has a vehicle as you can't assess if there is a threat.
Every time I don't bring the dogs we get panhandled.

I did this once outside a bar in Galveston.

Just last week I saw a panhandler park his Camry in the Walmart parking lot, open his trunk and change into his costume, like a doctor going into surgery, and then walk to the intersection and traffic light to start work.

Anyone living on the street should be arrested.
Those who are determined to be mentally ill should be placed in loony hospitals.
Those who simply gave up on life and turned to alcohol and drugs, will be detoxed and then released until such time as they offend again by living on the streets or panhandling.

I could maybe believe that someone could pocket that much on a good day in a big city like New York... no one is going home with $800 in Baton Rouge.

The traffic counts by my off ramp is over 25k daily traffic. There is no doubt in my mind that some days they could hit that number. It's basically $3 for every 100 cars.

Homeless shelters charge $7 per night for a stay. Not sure where they expect these people to get money except to panhandle.

I used to employ the Kaiser Soze method, and just start walking like a gimp to throw them off. After I pass them, I walk normal.

I saw a panhandler on govt st near downtown that was relieved of his shift by another panhandler. The guy who got relieved even gave the guy the sign
