Do you think 200 protesters will cause Shell not to renew the lease? It's not that many. It's barely newsworthy.

What I've noticed is when the press covers a left wing cause, they overblow the crowd figure estimates, making it seem bigger than it really was, are sympathetic to the protest and make the protesters seem like they achieved something and the public sentiment is with them
But for a conservative protest, they downplay the crowd estimate and use terms like "dozens" when there were thousands, make the protesters seem like fringe crazy kooks and take a contrarian tone about the protest. They act like nothing was accomplished and public opinion was against it

I'd imagine the Coast Guard or some other regulatory force would tell the 200 people to GTFO.

What can kayakers do to delay operations? It just takes a big fan to move them.

A couple of crew boats driving in circles around the rig would make for a good time. You could have bets for how long they stayed in their yaks...

Yeah really. Light hydrocarbons anybody?
Better yet, somebody else pointed out the kayaks they're on.

Patchouli oil and lemongrass.

Boom, did you really say that? Is your Yak wood or metal?

I watched an Iraq war protest in downtown Seattle 10 years ago. The protest group was made up of 15 ten year olds, 6 middle aged folks (I think they were their teachers) and 4 news vans.
If one of the kids put their sign below their head, one of the teachers would yell at them until they put the sign back up.
Quickly I realized the media sensationalized everything.

I know you probably copied and pasted that, but I like to think you've spent the five hours since the OP, furiously researching and compiling your list.

Of course, I researched that list myself. I lie, I copied and posted that
