How do you calculate body fat percentage? I know I still have a long way to go, but I'd like to know where I'm at and where I need to be.

Is there a lot of jumping in X3? I like that it's 30 min but I live in an apartment building and am a big guy and don't want to be shaking stuff of my neighbors walls. X1 was really just bad for plyo, and I guess if this is just 30 min my neighbors can deal with it if it's bad.
Also I know I should focus on landing softly but that only does so much and let's be honest when I am dogging it, that's not gonna happen.

I have one of those scales that you have to step on with bare feet and it weighs you, then give you your BF% and water%.

I'm 5'11"/220/36 yr old and never worked out a day in my life. Ok maybe 10 days in my life. CouldI do P90X or would I just say frick that after trying a few times?

There is a minimum fitness test, but I think anyone can do the workout unless you have some sort of medical condition that would make it unwise.

It really depends on where you are mentally. Me, I was absolutely disgusted with myself when I saw how I looked (I posted about this earlier in this thread). I knew I wanted to change. It was a turning point. I wanted to give up during Phase I, but I kept going. Now, I want to work out more because I'm already seeing results. Seeing results is what gives me my motivation now.

That's what I figured......would like to drop about 20 lbs, but just not committed to working hard for it. I want the easy way out.

Yes, they show you how to do lower impact versions of it.. You just have to stick with it..

T25 is tough, but it's only 25 minutes?

It would wear you out.
I'm in decent shape and I wanted to puke halfway thru the P90x plyo workout; even with me pacing myself.

Calculated my body fat as best I could (I don't have a tape measurer). I'm not happy. Not at all.

I hated this workout, but it worked the hell out of you. Took me a few weeks before I could do the whole thing.

I think that it has a lot to do with your personality. I hate working out around other people, so this works really well for me. (I have a home office, so I just do it during lunch or after work.)
Also, I am the type that when I start something, I have to finish it. So, even if I am dragging arse or I don't feel like working out, or whatever, if I can just force myself to put on gym shorts and put the dvd in, then it is almost like I HAVE to finish it.
If you are like that, you won't quit. You'll get better and better and start to try to best your previous performance.
If you are prone to say "f--- it" in the middle of something once it gets difficult, then you will quit P90X before you even get started. I'd suggest a personal trainer to keep you motivated, if you are like this.
I know it sounds cliche, but the 1st week of P90X (or any of them) is BY FAR the hardest - esp. mentally. It gets a lot easier in week 2 and then by week 3, it is almost 2nd nature.
And, they say this a lot in the DVD's, but don't be afraid to modify the workouts. If you can't go as hard as they do, dial it back and then try to get better on the next one.
