Well that and honestly aesthetic abs are more about fat loss than abdominal strength. The original X3 didn't have an ab ripper. All the ab work was going to be in the core work laced in the other workouts. If you have t noticed, there is an ab strengthening move in every workout.

Marketing decided to add an ab ripper in the deluxe package because they figured people would want a dedicated ab workout and it looks like they were right.

To answer question, yes you can expect similar results in your abs since that is primarily fat loss and this program is definitely good at that. 39 of the 40 people in the original test group lost at least 10% of their body fat.

In my case I'm really trying to gain some lean muscle. I hope the "mass" calendar helps with that. I thought I may just need the additional ab work to balance out the amount of eating I'll have to do to gain weight. Thank you for your thoughts.

I really like that there are different calendars for different goals. I can't wait to try X3.

I am 53 and about to start my third round of P90x. I was interested to know if you think the X3 is enough of an improvement to the original to warrant purchasing it . Question has probably been asked repeatedly here but thanks for any insight.

I'll tell you what I do. Today I did eccentric lower and had a little time left so I did Pilates too. This isn't the first time I've done that either.

If you have the time it's definitely not going to hurt you if you decide you wanna stack one of the ab ripper workouts on top of your regular one.

I'm doing X2. I haven't done X3, but I'm sure it's similar to X2. You engage all of your muscles in unison instead of in isolation. DrTyger is the authority, though, so I will defer to his expertise.

But, I'm sure X3 is definitely worth it. It's all based on what Tony calls "Muscle Acceleration". Basically, after 30 minutes into a workout, you begin to slow down, so X3 is trying to optimize those first 30 minutes, giving you a more effective workout in half the time.

If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

I've done p90x three times as well. I wouldn't call an X3 an improvement just a reimagining. You do get the same workout in half the time. I'm on my second month of X3 and loving it so far and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much it's kicking my butt.

Yeah, it is very appealing. There's no pacing yourself. Go beast for 30 minutes.

Get DrTyger as your coach so you can get the best deal.

In four months, I've gone from 208 lbs to 164 lbs. From a 36" waist to 32" waist. I never thought I could look like this. It's just awesome.

I'm in my second week of block 3 of P90x3. At the beginning, I was worried about the utter lack of bicep curls using weights. I was scared that I'd lose mass.

After doing this for over two months,I'm no longer worried. Those chin ups are killer. As it turns out, there was a study done with EMGs that found out that "chin ups" with wide parallel grip engage biceps muscles more than any other exercise, including curls. I believe it, because my arms have grown more in the last 2.5 months with chin ups (modified with the above grip) than they did doing the original p90x 4 times(half-assed)with all those curls.

Could you tell me where I can find this study?

That seems very interesting but not at all surprising. The biggest gains period for my arms was right after I started doing chin-ups.

I'm on Week 5. I had my first bout with Triometrics today. While I didn't find it to be overly hard, I still hate these moves.

I feel like there isn't much in these workouts as far as building some bulk in my arms, but all the different videos are cutting me up pretty good.

My favorite so far is Isometrics and my least favorite is probably Triometrics. I love Iso so much that I usually do that one as an extra twice or three times a week.

I've decided to transfer schedules midway. Was doing mass, but going to shift to classic. Was definitely getting stronger but didn't feel like bulking up at the expense of adding body fat. That can be fore another time.

Please explain the food chart thing to me. I'm plan E. The numbers confused me in relation to what I was suppose to be eating. For breakfast am I suppose to eat 3 proteins 1 fat and 2 carbs? Or does that mean something else?

I'm sure it's something simple and I'm an idiot.
