Hey thanks for advice last week, I started eating more, particularly carbs and feel much better.

That's great. Cutting is good when you're starting out, but eventually you have to increase the carb intake in order to gain more muscle. Otherwise you feel like you're crashing.

Is it bad I'm doing the opposite? I finished p90x last week and was taking in a moderate/high level of good carbs. I just started p90x3 today and through this cycle am going to lower my carbs (while still keeping high protein).
I saw great muscle results and really like the progress I made the last few months, but my biggest goal was to get rid of the fat around my love handles and those are still going strong. I just assumed I'd need to cut back on carbs.

Cutting isn't bad if you're trying to lose excess fat. You don't have to stick to one diet all the time. Lots of people cut on carbs in the beach season. They like the more ripped look. There's nothing wrong with that.
But, if you have energy problems and can't get through your workouts, you might want to increase your carb intake. Your body needs sugar to survive.

I work out first thing in the morning, abt 25 minutes after waking up so I usually have a cup of coffee and that gets me going.

So tonight i started body beast plus on each day i do 3 sets of either bench, squats, press, or deads.
Tonight was bench plus chest and tris. JESUS CHRIST THAT WAS HARD.
Hardest workout from a muscle endurance standpoint i have seen in any of the beachbody programs.
After the giant set, essentially a superset of close grip bench/flat flyes/feet elevated pushups, i was spent. In fact i couldn't even do regular pushups during the sets.
Overall great Workout, up there with the challenge. Only thing i will change is dips for kick backs and then using barbell movements instead of db when it makes sense.
I knew i wasnt ready for that kind of volume and its why i am extending each phase, prolly try to stretch the program to 24 weeks, so double the normal time i believe. Right now i am on zero carbs for over a week so the volume is a lot for me, but after next week i will start slowly adding carbs and go more towards the body beast plan.
For those not coming from a volume program, get ready because it will humble you and kick your arse. For those coming from one of the other programs, get ready because it's gonna kick your arse too.
Btw this program is only $40 right now which is a steal. Also you can use a stability ball in place of the bench, so not as much equipment as one would think.

I'm jealous.
Yesterday was V-Sculpt in X2. What a fantastic workout.
Tonight is Plyocide. I wonder if I should skip it, tho. My right knee feels weird. It feels like it has an air bubble that needs to pop but it won't, so it just hurts.

What all equipment are you missing?
Posted on 4/20/15 at 11:20 pm to lsu777
Just the bench, brah! I'm getting one asap!

Instead of buying so much equipment for Body Beast, could you just write down the exercises/sets/reps and do it at the gym?
Posted on 4/21/15 at 8:33 am to JJ27
Yea you could easily.
Also sabi, why not just go buy a 20 dollar stability ball and use that? Btw if you are going to get a bench, spend the extra and get a good one. It will need to be flat and incline. I suggest either elitefts, edgefit ess or rogue. A good one is gonna coat. If thats out of your price range they have a tko on ironcompany for like 385 plus free shipping.
Dont get one that has a 300 lbs limit because by the time you get on it and pick up yhe dumbbells you are already lose to the limit.

Week 4 of T25. I'm getting old because the impacts exercises are starting to hurt. I'm starting to see results in weight loss and appearance but I'm losing motivation because I like food so much.

Its not that you are getting old, all of shaun t's programs are high impact. Its why i dont really like his that much.

I follow Tanya at times, the Asian low impact modifier. She just had a baby and even though she's modifying, she's still doing the work.

This was day 2 of x3 for me. So far it's pretty cool, I LOVE that the time limit has been cut in half, that's a big help in the mornings.
So far my biggest complaint is that Tony doesn't explain any of the moves first. That might be nitpicky, but pretty much every move is different from p90x (well, some are the same but have a different title or are tweaked a little bit), so he's like "ok we're doing [move], and go!" and I'm like "idk wtf we're doing". So 30 minutes turns into like 40 because I have to watch them do it, then rewind it, then do it with them.
I'm sure that won't happen after the first week when I know the moves, but it's still a tad irritating at this point.

Which program? Beachbody has the videos, if you need equipment you can buy elsewhere. I suggest the powerblock u90 start set for dumbbells.
