Yes, I just went back & saw that in the article. I'm assuming (hoping ) they're meaning a "redder" brown/burgundy color similar to oxblood. However, I am pretty partial to the red/white patent leather or suede oxfords seen at many Hog games, but just not with a suit.

From the article:

For a navy suit:

Black shoes
Brown shoes
Red or burgundy shoes

He might have been simplifying the colors. I doubt he means it's okay to wear clown shoes, but oxblood and cordovan have definite reddish hues.

I have a pair of Frye dress loafers that go well with suits. Depends on the style.

While the style board is assembled, who here would wear blue suede drivers. Asking for a friend (it's me).

Not again' drivers, particularly.

But ask yourself this:

What would Tommy Lee do?

Loafers with a sport coat and khakis or even jeans, oxfords look better with suits. Though I see this thread is ten pages, so either it's an epic shoe debate, ending in one being deemed trashy, or an IM thread. ..... I'll just click and see.

Something like this, although this one has a denim look I don't particularly like, but you get the idea.

Sabi, you could pull it off.

You're a lean guy.

Plus, if you had to go all Bruce Lee on some crank, you just slip those those bad boys off.

Blue boat shoes and drivers look very prep.

I suggest Quoddy. Materials are top quality, they are made to order, and are super customizable.

I'd wear 'em.

I'd also rock these if it weren't for the green sole:

You fellas are serious about your footwear.

Welcome to the dark side. At least when you ask yourself "Which black shoes should I wear?" you don't have 17 choices staring at you from your closet.
