One of her songs inspired Mary Kay and the idea of the Pink Cadillac

More than 100 pink Cadillacs lined up two and three wide along 7 Mile Road for an entire city block to join today's funeral procession for Aretha Franklin. It was a sea of GM's finest: El Dorados. Couple de Villes. Escalades. And, of course, there was plenty of fin power. Last week, Mary Kay national sales director Crisette Ellis put out a call for employees of the cosmetics firm and anyone else who owned a pink Cadillac to turn out for Aretha Franklin's funeral. Franklin sang about pink Cadillacs in her 80s hit, "Freeway of Love" that quickly became an anthem in the Motor City, her hometown. "We goin' ridin' on the freeway of love in my pink Cadillac," she sang. Caddy owners answered the call.

Her song was about pink Cadillacs.

I thought that was a Bruce Springsteen song? Hmmmm. Talk about cultural appropriation.

Different song than the one Bruce made. Of all the great soul music she made it's probably the worst song she ever made. Pure 80s cheese.

I always thought a "pink Cadillac" was a metaphor for the honey hole.

And it’s still going on.
They keep showing Bill and Hillary, (who for some strange reason aren’t sitting together on the stage), and both look like they are about to fall asleep. They are struggling to stay awake
