I drove to San Antonio yesterday and there were 15 jillion cars on I-35. I stayed in the right-hand lane, but still had bozos blow up on my arse and tailgate me.
One flashed his lights at me. I guess he expected me to pull over on the shoulder or exit so he could pass.
Then there's the total idiot who clamps down on your rear bumper, and will NOT move off it, whether you're going 120 mph or 20 mph.
Three lanes, I'm in the right hand, and two completely empty lanes next to us, and they still latched on.
People are fricking idiots.

I have a radar detector and still get tickets. It's not the end-all-be-all of stopping cops from getting your speed. My laser jammer will stop laser, but there isn't a way to stop them from getting your speed when they use instant on radar. Sometimes I get lucky and it bounces off another car, but that's where my tickets come from nowadays
I did a 3500 mile round trip a couple of weeks ago, and Waze helped the most, followed by my V1, and the jammer stopped one cop from getting me. That combo is about as good as it gets (didn't have my CB installed)

Call the number on the ticket, be polite to the lady that answers the phone and ask to get reduced to a non-moving violation and send them a check. Done.

Got a ticket in Illinois one time and didn't think anything of it. I was really young and figured, Illinois isn't going to come get me over $150. 2 years later I went to get my DL renewed only to find out that it wasn't going to happen. They had flagged my DL and I had to pay the ticket before I could get a new one.

I ran into a similar issue when I got caught in a speed trap outside of Memphis on I-40. They were a tiny district that stretched across a piece of the highway with basically a trailer and no way to pay online. So I sent the payment in by money order and didn't think anything about it. A couple months later I got a letter from the state of Kentucky telling me if I didn't pay the ticket within 15 days my license would be suspended due to my Tennessee ticket. Got it paid by resenting the payment, certified. But there's definitely repercussions if you just flat "ignore" it.

I don't know if it is county specific, but I got a ticket in Texas a few years ago that they let me pay extra to have dropped from my record. I called the number on the ticket, and talked to the lady about my options. She said I could pay ~$50 on top of the ticket, and turn in paperwork through certified mail to have the ticket dropped. The deal was that I had to keep my driving record clean for 90 days, and turn in a secondary form at the conclusion to certify that there were no additional infractions. It wasn't very hard, and kept the ticket off of my record.
