I'm not a fan of the bracelet but the face is really nice.

Try and buy a used one in great condition, you will take a hit if buying new from AD.

It's a nice watch.

In the sub 4k category, I would lean toward a Tudor Pelagos or Black Bay 58 over the Omega. That's just my preference though.

This is the one I referenced in my first reply. The best thing Omega has done in years, in my opinion. I love the cream color lume - I know it is technically faux patina, but looks so darn good I can get past that.

A poster I’d love to sit down and have a couple of beers with. Dude has led an interesting life. I’d love to hear his climbing stories.

Prince William's daily wear is the quartz, blue-faced, small version given to him as a youngster by his mother, Lady Di.

I can't do the faux lume. It's one of the reasons that I haven't pulled the trigger on a Black Bay 58 (that and the faux rivets).

The watch that has really caught my eye lately is a 16570 with "real" lume patina.

I'm waiting to get my hands on a nicely patina'd maxi dial 5512.

Here is my 16610 purchased in 1989 - lighting is not the best to appreciate the patina, but you can see it best on 12 o'clock triangle and the insert pip. Dial is original, but handset was replaced around 2005, I believe. It is correct in that it's a Tritium lumed set, but there is a subtle difference in degree of patina.

Just think of faux patina as a color choice. The only issue with the Seamaster 300 is the lugs are really long and makes it wear much bigger than it should. I keep saying I am going to sell mine but don't.

The problem with the Omega names is the Seamaster Diver 300 is a different watch from the Seamaster 300, the 300 is the vintage inspired homage, the Diver is the modern version.

To the OP, the Seamaster Diver is about a 3600 watch on rubber and closer to 4000 on bracelet NIB in the grey market like Jomashop. If you will accept gently used you can get much better deals, especially if you don't want the current models. Delray watch usually has a good selection of Seamasters and if they don't have what you want give them a call. You may find what you are looking for on one of the forum's for sale section but may actually have trouble buying from an individual unless you have been active on the forum, some will sell to a new guy some won't.

One thing to note if you go used I would avoid the 2500 movement unless you do some research and know which variation you are getting. They did have issues. The 8xxx movements have been very solid. I actually own 7 of the new 8000 series movements and they have all been great with zero issues. The current three hand Seamasters will have the 8800 master chronometer movement and will meet their new in-house METAS testing requirements. I personally like the new grey dial but still prefer the Planet Ocean.

Have you seen that the El Cap gigapixel is available in print form? 40by60 inch, bought one for my son for his birthday... it’s beautiful.

One time printing. The guy Eric Sloan seems really cool too.
