oh i'm not sweating it at all. I actually tend to wonder why TD implemented them in the first place. It doesn't serve any real purpose.

I was actually a sub vol leaving school, but got stationed on a carrier, kinda weird

The gap was supposed to be the Soviets main attack route into Southern Germany if the balloon ever went up. I remember everyone saying that if that ever happened we'd all most likely be dead within minutes or even seconds of the start of hostilities. Supposedly the Soviets had a shite ton of artillery primed and sighted in on the gap at all times. Glad we never had to find out how that would have worked out.

My most memorable time was with 326th Marines Kilo Co at KheSanh during the siege. I'm reliving those memories now because 21 Jan was the 47th anniversary of the beginning of the siege. Never forget all the guys that didn't make it back to the world. RIP
