I'm selling my house and have a house full of furniture that I'm basically giving away because of the hassle of packing everything up. First, the house sale. Appraiser took 13 days to get the appraisal done, which obviously means that he's not poor enough to want to get it done quickly. He's way too busy and life;s way too good for him to provide better, faster service.
Appraisal comes over value by a couple thousand, but notes that my small detached shed has peeling paint. So now the bank, even though the house is selling below appraisal, is mandating that the shed be re-painted.......obviously, times are too good and they they don't need to close on the house or care if they are risking their customer walking to another lender. Times are too good and customers are too plentiful to not be nit-picking.
Try calling painters, all go to voicemail, no one answers, I guess times are too good and they have plenty of work for them to have someone waiting for work answering the phone when it rings.
Finally get in touch with a guy, send him pics of the shed and the work that needs to be done, and he says that he needs to see it in person to quote....makes appointment, never shows, doesn't answer his phone when I try calling him 30 mins, 1 hour after he no shows.....I guess he doesn't really need work, times are too good, he can flip a coin on when he wants to make an appointment or not and he still has more than enough to live comfortably.
Selling my home to a single mother, and stated that I can leave my furniture as part of the house.....but times are too good and she has too much stuff, and wants me to move it out before she moves in. I guess times are too good for a single mother, she has too much stuff even to accept anything free.
Put ad on C-list for 2 weeks, having GREAT pieces of furniture for next to nothing ($10 tv stand -$100 couch) that I bought for 10x what I'm selling them for a mere year ago......and I've gotten no interest. Times are too good to want used furniture...when they can get "new", "no credit check required", "0 down financing" garbage furniture....why buy a used piece of quality furniture?
Times are just too good, people need to be poorer.
* I bought the furniture for staging purposes on the remodel, it's good stuff.

Kind of an obscure thread to be featured as a "throwback"
I'm guessing Kujo hurt your feelings in another thread recently?

I remember chuckling at that but is it really worth a throwback?

Maybe their color got called and had to take a drug test.

My favorite line. Heaven forbid she expects an empty house when she moves in after closing.

Those Obama years were pretty good, weren't they.
The trumper inherited a really good situation.
