Aren't you from Louisiana? If so theres a good chance you suck at skiing and are poor.

Yeah, your right. I have been to all three. If your on a board you sometimes need to give a decent amount of thought on how to get around and keep your speed up in some areas.
For instance, last year I made the mistake trying to get from Breck peak 8 to peak 6 to meet other people. Seemed like an hour of catwalks. Probably was less though.
In Crested Butte if your boarding, the North Face and other bowls are great but if you miss the shortcut out about mid mountain, your guaranteed a 30 minute to 1 hour hike out.

Breck 8 to 6 is quicker taking the gondola back to 7 then Indy chair over to 6.

Yep, I learned that now. Last year was my first time back in Breck in a long time. I tried Columbine to Peak 6 parkway. There is that flat area around the T-Bar that if your boarding your unstrapping and pushing. I should have done what you said and gone down to the gondola.

Thats bs. Takes me about 30 seconds to sit down buckle up and be on my way. Don't be an impatient arse with your friends.
Well one friend is a really good rider, but damn, he is ALWAYS f'ing with his bindings. The other friend, is really quick with the bindings, but he's not nearly as good. It's annoying when we hit a difficult trail and he just turns his board sideways, leans back and skids down the slope...taking the snow with him. Whereas a skier, I can't do that shite and actually have to ski and make turns.

It's called the falling leaf.

Learn to jump turn for when it's too steep for you to carve with confidence.

Got you, that does rustle skiers jimmies, when a guy slides sideways down the whole slope taking the snow with them.

So... skiers vs snowboarders is still a thing?
I never know which side to blast, because I do both. Usually will ski a couple days and board a couple days on vacation.
Yea I find I mix it up based on conditions. If there's fresh powder, I don't know if there's anything in the world that can touch boarding. I drop my setup back and feel like I'm Johnny Tsunami riding the waves.
If it's icy, though, I'll throw on skis from time to time.

Beginners. The knuckledraggers in our group take about 5 seconds and they're ready to hit the fall line.
Yea if it takes you more than a couple seconds to get ready you're doing it wrong. Hell if it's not to steep to start most of our crew can start riding and clip in while we're standing up.

If you get a shitton of speed coming down off the Rocky Mountain superchair you bliw through the catwalk past the T bar.
Catwalks are worse at Vail. Getting to Blue Sky Basin is a PITA

I think I needed a wax job. I never could make it. Plus people congregate right there.

My favorite spot at Vail is the ShangriLa (sp?) trees on the side of China Bowl. Gets REAL deep in there on a good powday.
ETA: It's one of the last areas to get tracked out because everyone bypasses to go to BSB, they hit the cliffs on the other side of China Bowl, or they suck and hit the groomed strip down China Bowl to say they did a Vail back bowl.

No, I don't sit down to strap in. Pretty quick actually for an old fart.
I generally stay away from areas that won't allow me to use gravity as my friend. There are cases when you may find yourself on a catwalk. When I do, I just hitchhike with a friendly skier...
