Holy frick. Have any of yall heard of personal responsibility? What the frick are you teaching your children?

Sex is not always the greatest idea as a teen. I'm not subsidising or encouraging bad decision making by providing birth control. Now, if he or she still feel the need to have sex, then they can go buy a fricking condom. Providing birth control IMO is like buying them alcohol on prom night. Hey guess what, I ain't doing that shite either.

I give both of my kids lunch money every day, but I don't go to school to make sure they buy their fricking lunch. I give both of my kids an allowance every week, but I don't make sure they are buying birth control or putting gas in their cars or getting their grandmother a birthday present.

For the record, my wife and I managed to conceive both of our children on the Pill. I tell my kids every day, if you are gonna be stupid, you'd better be tough. Getting pregnant or getting someone pregnant as a teen is pretty fricking stupid.

Wow.

The Pill is not as effective as most would think...it has a failure rate of about 9% (typical use).

There's more effective, longer-term methods with fewer side effects coming out with time.

Wow. Way to go to the extreme there dumbass.

Teach your kids about safe sex and tell them if they get someone pregnant/become pregnant they're on their own.

Yes I will and my daughter will be on birth control. Her mom will take her to the Gyno and I won't have to know about it. It will be their little secret.

If only I believed I won't find out

As I said I am 25 with no kids, I said it's more important to teach your kids to be responable than shower them with condoms. turning a blind eye is worse than accepting the truth.
If you give your kid lunch money and he buys a handle for prom you are still paying for it

I understand not actively buying it but at least tell them to be smart and warn them of the dangers.

I honestly don't think people are being totally honest about medications they were on or if they missed a day or two when they say "I got pregnant on the pill"

If you take it every day at around the same time and don't take any medications that could interfere with it, you're not getting pregnant.

Once, she missed a day or two. The other time the antibiotics she was taking negated the birth control. There is only one form of birth control that is 100% effective and that's abstinence. Point is, be PERSONALLY responsible. Educate your kids and let them make their own decisions and live with them.

They are educating their children and giving them the tools to use said education if they wish.

I guess they should have just been handing them a pamphlet on abstinence and hope that pamphlet has directions on how to get pills without their parents consent and insurance :D

I have two daughters that have yet to hit puberty. (Bless my heart) I'm going to have very frank conversations about sex and the potential consequences of having sex at a young age. Teenage pregnancy, bad reputation, STD's etc. They will be educated about sex before they have a chance to have it.

That being said they will absolutely be on BC and will carry condoms. I will do everything I can to insure my child doesn't ruin her life by making a hormonal decision when biologically speaking, she's supposed to be having sex.
