I didn't do the crime. Was innocent from beginning. The DA knew they had no case. Drug it out for a year. When it comes to trial DA and us both know it won't go to trial and da does NoProc because they have no case
My agreemenet with lawyer was $5000/ with $400 with other appearancenes. They came one other time, which I paid and then when the DA said No Pros, which, dismissed the. case. I think that appearance constituants the trial for lawyer

Don't pay it. Sounds like your lawyer didn't even do anything. Hell, take him to court and see how he likes it.

You're being a dick. I hope your lawyer talks to the judge to get you back on trial.

The case was eventually no pros the day before trial date.

So does that mean the lawyer planned to show up to defend you but then the DA dropped the case the day before you were supposed to be in court?

Sounds kind of like your lawyer prepped for trial and arranged his schedule so he would be there, and that's why he's billing you for it.

So you agree to pay $400 per court appearance.

He makes a court appearance on your behalf

You don't think you owe him $400 for the court appearance.

Is that it?

I'd definitely stiff the attorney. What's he gonna do?

I think the 5000 -> original appearance, he paid 400 for a 2nd appearance, and the lawyer is charging him a 2nd 400 for a "3rd appearance" that never happened.

That is what it sounds like, but I'm not a felon. I don't get how this works.

Believe it or not, the prison industrial complex is big business, *especially* in overpopulated places with jacked up economies like Cali & bogus cases are not as uncommon as you might think.
