OT Mechanics. 2001 Ford Mustang

The car spits and sputters. It's showing a misfire on cylinder 2. I've changed the mass airflow sensor. The coil pack. Spark plug and wire. Fuel filter. Nothing has worked. Apparently this is a common problem with these cars. Does anyone have any knowledge of this happening and if so what was the fix? Thank you.

What engine? Does it do this under load or at idle? Check Engine Light? Kinda need some details.

It idles really rough and when you first give it gas it starts cutting out.

The reason I'm having to fix this car is I had a bad wreck a couple of weeks ago and destroyed my truck

It does have a check engine light on and it is showing some codes

Typically either air, fuel or fire. I would pull the plug and spin the motor while grounding the plug. If it is firing what would appear normally I would go with fuel.
Your details did not include whether fuel Injected, if so clean your injectors.
You could have more serious problems such as valves not seating....
Eliminate one area then continue the same on the others until you find it.

Is it only on tip-in or can you throttle through the problem? Have you checked the Idle Air Valve or tested for vacuum leaks?

Off-hand you sound like you are on track: plugs, plug wires, coil pack. Assume its something simple because it probably is. It can be fixed and you can do it.

As of now I'm planning on changing the fuel injector on cylinder 2 this Saturday. I'll have to pull the intake to do it. Probably take a little while

You must have some experience working on engines from what you have tried but, I would at least try running some injector cleaner through before swapping out the injector.
Just a thought.
