If I was you I would find something like a 2015 Altima for 12-13k. Find a dealer that doesn’t notice the bad tranny and get 1500 for it, put 3k down and finance 10k for 3 years
You want some free bubble-up and rainbow stew with that dream.

Lol I know. Trust me I’m not dumping 3k into it
I replaced a CVT in an 07 Altima. It was a little more than 3k unfortunately.

Anyone with a dick and ball combo should be able to do it.

know something is wrong, and im going to take it in tomorrow to get it looked it, but my question is how long do you think i can drive it before its done completely? I really wasnt in the mood to buy a car right now. TIA
Are you willing to put 4k into this thing when you could be coming up on more maintenance based off the mileage alone?

Your Altima is $100 scrap with a bad transmission, and putting a new one in for 3k increases it’s value to $1500, and that’s not really worth it. If you spend 3k on a repair and drive it for a year and give it away you are only out $3k.
The repair is almost always the least cost option.

I get these fail attempts in all the time. Most confess they cant do it and some say they just dont have the time to mess with it.
No motherfricker, you dont have the tools or the know how to mess with it and now you want me to bail you out a bind.

Are you forgetting he has a 10yr old car with 200k miles? I doubt the transmission will be the only thing to go wrong. At what point do you stop dumping money into it? Have you seen the movie Money Pit?
He's gonna have to buy a new car sooner or later. He'll pe paying that note anyway. Why waste money on basically a worthless car now?
