Well someone needs to speak up. I have lost 2 family members to war. They gave their lives. Maybe I was wrong being so hurt and pissed. But, these people don't know what they are speaking of. I would like to see them with ammo flying by their heads etc....I don't think they could man up. Sorry but someone needs to speak up.

Army are the only branch referred to as soldiers. But USAF are troops. Much fail with customs and curtesies.

Doubt it is a true Marine - not in crayon and the words are spelled correctly.

The Army can't shoot for shite. They just don't teach the fundamentals of marksmanship in basic training.
That's bullshite. I went through basic in the winter of 1990 and it was extremely important to our group of drill sergeants and we had tons of range time. I was 39/40 to earn my expert in marksmanship.
It might be lax on shooting now but back at Ft. Hood they definitely gave a shite and it was a major source of pride between platoons and companies.

Coming out of boot you feel invincible (one of its purposes) but it wears off pretty quick for most.
There's good natured ribbing among Marines on which boot camp you attended, San Diego "Hollywood Marines" or Parris Island "Sand Fleas." Years later the first question when meeting a fellow Marine usually is "where'd you go to boot?" No doubt USMC vets are a special fraternity of brothers for life.
Young men and women vets I've meet from all branches who've served since 9/11 are better educated, better trained, "squared away" and just as motivated as any that came before. I have great respect for all of them in any branch of the military.
frick with a Marine's combat Navy Corpsman medic and you'll find out real quick what we think of the Navy.
Semper Fidelis, Gentleman.

my son has said this exact same thing. They make you feel like you could kill everyone in the room. IT IS part of the training. My son is deployed right now on the 15th MEU. He loves his NAVY brothers.

You can be proud of a great achievement without being so obnoxious about it.
It tends to make it seem petty and trivial when you try to use it like a hammer when the merits of it speaks for itself.

I didn't sign up to have ammo flying by me, you did. No one forced you to sign up for it either. I don't think you could man up and do my job, but....
Your welcome for the gas you put in your car every week, and the fuel that goes into the tanks, planes, humvees etc in your service.
You're welcome for kevlar.
You're also welcome for the refrigerant that goes into the a/c unit in some of those vehicles.
You're also welcome for the little plastic bags you get at Wal-Mart when you check out.
You're welcome for chocolate candy.
You're welcome for coffee.
You're welcome for the Coca-Cola brand of beverages. You're welcome for steel.
You're welcome for dog food.
You're welcome for glue.
You're welcome for Zapp's, Zatarains, LA Fish fry, Abita Beer, Nola Brewing, and Crystal Hot Sauce.
You're welcome for faster Formula 1 cars, and soon to be faster Corvettes.
That's how to be a douchebag.

Of course! I forgot about them. Nice branch of service. Whenever anybody asks me about joining up, I make a point of advising them to consider the Coast Guard.
