Get that beta shite out of here and frick off. I am not the one who got the HOA involved, she is. Like everyone has said in the thread that I should have handled it directly with the neighbor I have done. They have brought it to this point.

Now the daughter butch is undoubtedly spending her mom's retirement money for surveys and what not because she is a bitch.

Haven't read the first reply, but this should be one of those classic threads that goes nowhere near where the OP planned

I'm afraid saying anything about her fence at all was a mistake. If you're selling, making that deck and yard look nice without spending a bunch of money would go a long way. It's in desperate need of some color.

paint both fences on your side the same color could work out very well

or Power Wash your side, it needs it

Just stained the deck. If you would have saw what it looked like 3 years ago it's a huge improvement.

I never said anything about the fence until I was contacted by the HOA regarding the deck. I told them I offered to work with them in every way and they built an addition anyway. They came out to see it then told her she had to take it down. Now they are throwing out all the property like garbage.

This thread went the way of the OT. Somehow now I'm poor, hate old ladies, and a beta for asking what my options were regarding a property line in a dispute I didn't start.

If the rest of the place looks as bad as your fence, you've got bigger fish to fry getting it ready to sell.

Put a long planter box on top of where your fence ends. Screw it into her new section and plant some draping colorful flowers/ plants in the box. It would hide her fence and dress up yours.

From the pic it really doesn't seem that bad as is. It will fade and blend in.

Pic evidence looks pretty trashy. I bet your wife is trashy as well to have married you.

Why am I wasting my time stating the obvious..... Of course you are trashy enough to pick on your neighbor that was born in the WW1 era, you're a god damn Bama fan.

I hope the old lady breaks out a reciprocating saw one day and goes to town clearing her land of any trashy decks on her property. Zero fricks are given by people pushing a century MHaw!

Time-line for everyone.

She built the 2x10 on top. I removed lighting and asked what the problem was.
She added another board back toward the house.
I did nothing.
Daughter asks how we should approach them repairing the fence.
I offered any help necessary even removing the deck from the fence if they wanted to replace the posts.
Next day they add on again.
I get call from HOA about deck, HOA inspects fence and tells her to take it down.

Now we are here.

Well I think I'll sit on my deck in my neighbors yard, looking at my trashy yard. Hell I'll go ahead and pay my mortgage that is probably less than your truck payment.

Maybe I'll even check out my savings account and admire all of my money.

You started this thing with how hideous her fence is.

Who would notice a fence addition with all the shite you have sitting around?

But none of that has anything to do with your issue, which seems like it's over anyway.

I was talking to Saint my bad. I'm still not sure how my fence is trashy? Besides the one that is the shared fence and is 20 years old?
