I still need to load up the conversation with Karen. I’ll try to do that tomorrow.

Also, my accent is my superpower. You’d be amazed how fast people open up when you sound like me. As soon as I speak it’s like a ton of stereotypes get applied which makes what I’m doing easier. I can ask the dumbest questions in the world and nobody batts an eye.

Also, notice that I hit that guy with nonstop questions the entire time and he never got suspicious.

Do I really sound like Foxworthy?

At one point, you mentioned bringing this to the attention of someone at the state level if the locals didn’t act. Is that still not a possibility?

I did... state and federal. No action

This thread delivers!

It doesn’t have the power packed ending but eitek has gone above and beyond.

From the tape:

“I’m just a hard working guy that repaired the bike” aka I dindunuffin wrong

Keep in mind this guy may have stolen the bike but if he didn’t, he’s still had it for years. Everything out of his mouth is a lie.

I thought he was going to get wise when you let on that there's no way he can legally expect any recompense for "repairing" a stolen bike.

Maybe he did, but he was also dumb enough to admit that he abused the bike himself, so maybe not.

This thread doesn't need that.

So since it crossed state lines and everything, do you think louisiana state police could maybe put a little pressure on the Mississippi guys?

maybe send it to lsp?

That dude didn't know what to do at that point.

I'm exporting the conversation with "Karen" and I'll upload it when it's done.

All throughout the conversation she's suspicous but keeps talking. You can hear the "caution" in the back of her head. She takes long pauses when I ask pressing questions but talks anyway.

This is the second call. The first time she said she couldn't talk. That's why it sounds like we've spoken before.

I’m impressed with the amount of effort you put into this ordeal. Kids, this is how you win at life. You work hard and shoot straight, knowing sometimes you lose and sometimes you win.

Thanks. In life there aren't a lot of times you get the chance to "get back" and provide justice in the larger context. It's happened a few times and I lean into it every time I get the chance. This was a lot of fun for me. This was the first time I've ever "lost". Usually there's a lot of "wailing and gnashing of teeth" at the end. LOL

Kudos for taking it so far. I agree that your effort to get these jack legs was impressive & the OT thanks you for it. It's a shame the results were not better (i.e. getting these crooks exposed or locked up).

Unfortunately, they likely continue to screw other folks over. That's the travesty in this situation.
