I’m well into my 50s and my hair is still as thick and grows as fast as it did when I was 16. Sounds great, right? Well, it sucks. My hair is super straight and super thick. Unless I keep it really long or really short, it just wants to stand up. Since my work has a dress code, keeping it long isn’t an option. So I have to keep it really short, at least on the sides. I have to have a haircut literally every two weeks. Otherwise, I look like a Chia Pet I was hoping as I got older it would slow down, maybe thin out a bit. Oh, but no. It’s a pain in my arse.

As for how I keep it, I think the common name is the “Viking” haircut..



I wear it this way for three simple reasons.

1. It’s long enough on the top to lay down.

2. It’s simple enough that my wife, who isn’t a barber, can give me a haircut every other Saturday.

3. Fixing my hair is as simple as putting a little pomade in it and combing it straight back.

Once I retire though, I’ll have had my last haircut. I hate having to bother with it.

I always have to take him different places bc no one wants to cut his hair

I used to, but yikes. I can’t keep up.

My husband has a full head of hair, maybe 3 grays (he says are my fault). He’ll be 49 soon.
