Honestly, from growing up and living in the south, I think black and white will always be frowned upon. I don't see nearly the resistance or intolerance for Asian/white, Hispanic/white, Italian/white, etc...

Honestly, it's not your choice. You can kick or scream all you want but in the end, you can either deal with it or possibly lose a daughter.

Yep, great point. I'm hispanic on my fathers side, I can assure you that hispanics are not cool with their daughters bringing home an AA. Hispanics might hate blacks more than white people do.

I'm lily white but let's be clear. There are plenty of people, not of my own race, that are more of "my own kind" than plenty of white people.
I judge people based on the content of their character, not on the color of their skin, and there are plenty of white people in this thread whose children I would not approve of my children dating.

I know it's tough for blacks and whites to date, because you're always gonna have at least one family member on each side that vehemently disapproves. Also in a lot of cases the two cultures are too far apart to make it work. Just the way it is.

Any father of any race, or religion, for that matter, would prefer their daughter marry within their race or religion. It is normal, expected and lessens problems for the couple and future children. However, if the person is a good, honest person who treats my daughter as a queen and they truly love each other, I would do what I could to make it work for them.

I personally am hoping for an American born Asian man or a Jew to marry my daughter. White male would be third on the list.
