I caught it from ice in a Bloody Mary in Costa Rica the morning we were leaving. By the time I got to New Orleans that night I wanted to commit suicide

While the symptoms overlap, food poisoning tends to pass the next day, and a fever isn't typical.

I'd say more likely viral gastroenteritis. Don't blame the pesto, baw. Pesto is delicious.

Same thing happened to me and my wife last March after eating Italian. Had to have been food poisoning for us and probably the same for you.
