I did something very similar. I was talking to my neighbor about trigger jobs and he said he just had one done on his 10/22. He handed it to me to check out, it was loaded with one in the barrel and full mag. I ejected the round and removed the mag, I even cycled the chamber a couple of times. I pointed towards the wall and pulled the trigger. BAM! I shot the wall in his house. To this day I can't figure out how that round was in that rifle.

I just found out I don't like mice or rats. Been in my house eight years and we have bird feeders in backyard. We have never had mice before well I just noticed some behind my screened porch and there is a small hole in the bottom of my screened patio. About two weeks ago I have my flashlight(its dark outside)and I am shining within the enclosure and notice one in my bush behind my screened enclosure I am locked in and watching that mofo with the light right on him. Well then I lose him for a split second next thing I see out the corner of my eye something flying over my shoulder its furry and small and I jump three feet in the air and about shite myself I see it land its a fake stuffed rat that my golden retrievers play with. I turn and my wife is on the floor dying laughing. All I could do was shake my head and accept she got my arse.

when I was 16 or 17, i suspected my car had a radiator leak, and a guy my mom was dating aid to put the radiator cap on 1 click, go to work and come home and take the cap off and see how much leaked.

so I did. I knew nothing of car mechanics at the time, and he assured me that with the cap only on 1 click it would be ok to check - so I did, and got a face, head and neck area of full hot water/radiator coolant.

had 1st degree scald burns on the side of my head, i thankfully turned my face away from it when i heard it coming up, but my back and shoulders had 2nd and 3rd degree scald burns.

I got lucky

Was the cap not hot to the touch? I have seen a couple of things come off like a missile

My first pistol. Extremely reliable and extremely awful trigger. I couldn’t hit shite with it. Thought I just sucked, and I kind of do, but then I tried other pistols and had no issues. So in this one instant, it was the gun that sucked and not me.

Mine too. I still have it, but it's my rattle can test canvas now. Last time I shot it, it was only to train myself not to anticipate recoil, which it is actually great for since it has 12 lbs of pull, 16 walls, and a mile of creep

I honestly used a rag and did not feel it as hot - but it had to have been.

I was young and had no idea car mechanical stuff - lesson learned
