What about those that may have been infected by the sick employee?
I'll send them home too. Not sure why this is complicated.
Better question....Why would any employee voluntarily disclose an illness to their employer. Nothing good ever comes from a discussion that starts with “Hey boss” ...I got cancer, Ebola, corona, pregnant.

If you send home everyone that MAY have been infected, you better have a large staff.

Per OSHA, it’s a reportable incident
Why this and not other illnesses?

They have a webpage for the virus set up. If you click on standards, it provides you with an explanation as to why. I don’t necessarily agree with it, but it is what it is.

Everyone understands that part. What about the possibility that you now potentially have dozens of other infected employees? It’s only simple to those that aren’t responsible

Any illness is reportable if it's work-related ie expose occurred due to the work environment.
Though OSHA does require a lab-positive Covid test result as well.

I think we should poll Twitter first, then proceed to carry out every suggestion offered that way everyone is happy with how we handle it. If everyone gets what they want, we all win. Right?

If they've tested positive. They they've already interacted with clients and/or employees.
Send em home, sanitize work stations. Tell any close contacts of the person test for the china virus. Move on.
