My inlaws are awesome. They are like a second set of parents to me. They've told me that if something ever happened with my wife and I, they'll keep me and my wife can move on.

You know they are joking, right?

Called pandering, but keep doing right whatever it is you are doing that makes them happy.

My father in law is great. My mother in law is really antagonistic to my wife, but she doesn't really act negatively towards me.

Just checking.

I learned the hard way with my first in-laws. They were my best of friends up until they were my worst of enemies.

Mine are fine. I actually like them a bit more than my parents because I had a bit of a puritanical upbringing.

I’m 26 and none of your very pessimistic summary of “all in laws” applies to my situation.

My In-laws are both wonderful people and in no way question my devotion to their daughter.

FIL yes man for MIL. No balls to ever tell her no. Hen pecked to the max.
MIL - two things will happen when she takes her last breath.
1 the earth will become a better place to live.
2 Satan will get his daughter back.

I am truly blessed in the in-law department. I married extremely well and have no complaints. My in-laws are divorced and both live within ten minutes of us. We have family gatherings at least once a week with both of them and it works well. My FIL even kept the MIL’s dog this past weekend.
