Had some spillway hog dogs that were part cur part walker. Bad dogs.
Beavers whipped up on em pretty bad one time. Tore one dogs ear off.
This story sounds weird though-- I mean, I don't think I understand the trapped part. Police had to be laughing hysterically.

I like to eat beaver once in a while 
But they meant to say Beaver Dam as they cut logs and stack them up to dam up the river, or bayou crossings
