There’s a billion word games just like it that you don’t only get one a day. Very random that it went viral.

Similar to why binge watching shows hurts them in the long run I think. There's a community feel to experiencing these things together at the same time.

remember that game mastermind from the 60s and 70s?

It's like that but with 5 letter words instead of colored pegs.

My wife grew up playing mastermind, and she can destroy me at it. I don't know if that experience helps, but she's also very, very good at wordle.

Only problem with wordle is it's too damn easy. Been playing for 2 weeks and haven't come close to losing

Same. Once you establish a few words to start with, it’s painfully easy. Got the past two days on the third try. Losing its luster quick.
