CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ark. — Drug and gun related charges have been filed after authorities raided a home reportedly dubbed the “one stop shop” for those looking for illegal items in Cleburne County, Arkansas. On Monday, Cleburne County detectives finally executed a search warrant on the Floral Road home after a year long investigation into 59-year-old Carl Watts. Watts had reportedly been suspected of participating in illegal activities, but what he was involved in was just recently brought to light for the public.
quote:
During the raid, detectives seized 27 guns, $66,000 in cash and several different illegal drugs, including cocaine, LSD, opioids, crystal meth and marijuana. They also found chemicals inside the home consistent with a meth lab. Watts was also reportedly running a moonshine operation with a still and finished booze ready for sale. He was taken into custody and given a $250,000 bond.

I'm pretty sure people trade him stolen guns for drugs, then he flips the guns to other criminals.

Why is making moonshine a crime again?
Posted on 5/9/18 at 2:54 pm to NYNolaguy1
Because it’s not regulated and taxed.

I saw one of those cop shows the other day where some dude was busted for hauling a couple of hundred pounds in his gas tank - filled will gas.
That's how they busted him when they smelled the gas that had come out the top of the hole they cut for the weed. Looks like the welder didn't do his job when he put the plate back on.
He had the shite well packaged though. Stuff was dry as a bone when the police got it out.

Is it? I seem to remember so long as it’s for your own consumption, it’s not illegal. Could be wrong and just assuming the rule for home brew and wine applies to shine as well.
